Concrete Variables.

Around a year or two ago, I became friends with this one grafitti artist named Cece Nobre. He's from Brazil, and moved here to Thailand for a while before I met him. I met him selling t-shirts at a stall in Rama 8, and since then I've been lucky enough to have had the chance to know the guy. Cece's a character, I gotta tell you. Knowing Cece and his visually culturalistic influence on his art, its hard to not appreciate his pieces, but you just gotta listen to the stuff he's gotta say to you. Its great to see how far he has evolved artistically, from Hanuman to real people, you just gotta go see his work.

This film Concrete Variables does not mainly focus on Cece, but rather it focuses on the biggest influences of his art - his friends. This is an insight into Cece's vision.

Watch this short movie, be inspired, and go check out the artwork at V64. Also if you skate, they recently made a bunch of obstacles over there so go shred and go film. Actually I'ma probably go film there today with the homies.

And Preduce.

So heres the thing that I just realised to myself.... You can't talk about skateboarding in Thailand without mentioning Preduce! These guys are the original skater-owned company and skate shop in Thailand. They've had three full-length videos. Smooth, Sambai, and Chaiyo. Those of you who have skated in Thailand know a thing or two about Preduce, and the name Geng Jakkarin commands respect among men. If you've never heard of Preduce before, well watch these videos, go check out their shop at Siam or Esplanade and say Whats Up to Golfie!

This video here is Chaiyo. A couple years in the making, the Preduce dudes really went all out for this one. They traveled to many places to film, and being an international traveler myself, thats not cheap at all. Much respect to Simon Pellaux for everything he's done for the skateboard community in Thailand

And this next video is of their new Ams. Gotta say I'm fucking stoked as hell for Mark O'Grady, thats my homeboy right there. Seen this dude skate for a while, and everytime I see him he just seems to be getting better and better. Mark's got style, check it out!

Well thats pretty much it for today. Enjoy the videos and hopefully they inspire you to come to Thailand and skate over here!

FIRST POST! FUCK YEAH!

Well wassup homies and fools, so finally I got off my ass and finally made a blog about skateboarding in Thailand.

So my goal for this blog is to mainly talk about skateboarding from over here as well as the international skateboarding that gets us stoked. First off, you should know that the Thai skateboard scene is very small compared to the scene in the United States, Europe, or Australia. You're not likely to see a skateboarder rolling down the street once or twice a day, in fact you're likely to notice that the roads are too fucked up - both in quality of surface and traffic - to skate on. So skateboarding in Thailand is mainly done at spots, and we have some damn fucking nice spots around here. We also got skateboarders, both local and foreign, helping push the scene around here and those eager to film and photograph the skateboarders dropping their hamers.

There are skater-owned companies here in Thailand that support skateboarding. I got a sick video that I want to show you. Its the Again - The Kids VideoDone for the homies, by the homies, with the homies, the irony to the name of this video is that the majority of the skateboarders in this video are of legal drinking age, but the name comes from the fact that its done for the kids that skate. So I hope you guys enjoy this video. Might as well make some munchies while you're at it.

Wth full parts by Shawn Ward, Suriyan Kanlaya, Hi Pongsopon, Ji Pao-In and much more! Oh yeah also sometime in the future I'll show you Shawns Solo re-edit.
